Parents’ Prayers Part 3: Change My Child’s Life

It has been our pleasure to bring you these Parents’ Prayers! Here is Holley Gerth with another installment.

New Life Ranch is about more than just a great experience for your child, it’s also an opportunity for God to work in his or her heart in life-changing ways. While you may not physically be here with your child, you can stay close by spiritually supporting him or her through prayer. To help you with this, we’re including a series of parents’ prayers on our blog this summer. A new prayer will be posted every Monday and each one will tie into this summer’s “change agent” theme. You’ll be able to access the other prayers in the series so we invite you to keep coming back. We want the work God begins in your child’s heart to continue long after he or she returns home. Thanks for joining us in asking God to make your child a “change agent” for His Kingdom this summer and for a lifetime.

You are young, but do not let anyone treat you as if you were not important.
Be an example to show the believers how they should live. Show them with your words, with the way you live, with your love, with your faith, and with your pure life.
1 Timothy 4:12 ICB

Lord,

Thank You that life is a wonderful gift.

Like anything of value, You expect us to

be good stewards and use it for Your Kingdom.

So I pray my child’s life will be used for You.

I ask that she will be a person of character

who has a heart full of compassion for others.

May she always reach up to You for strength

and reach out to those around her.

Even at her young age, please help her

to truly make a difference in the world.

As she is discovering the talents and skills

You’ve placed within her, please also

show her how she can utilize them

for You in powerful ways.

As a parent, open my eyes to see

who You have created her to be

and give me the wisdom to help her

bring You glory in all she becomes.

Amen.
