The “Week 8 Theme” Contest
What is your favorite weekly theme? I am rather fond of Decades Week because the costumes and skits tend to be pretty ridiculous and funny. And ridiculous and funny is really what the theme’s for the week are about. It gives everyone a chance to let loose and have a Halloween of sorts during the summer (one summer when I was a counselor, for Superhero week I wore a full-fledged Batman costume my grandmother made for me when I was 8).
There is actually a lot of discussion and debate when it comes to the theme’s for the weeks, and most of the conversation centers around what are some new theme’s we could do. A couple of years ago we introduced Animal Kingdom as a theme, and it has been a huge success. So that got us to thinking, what other awesome theme ideas are out there that we haven’t thought of yet?
So this is where you (and the contest) come in. We have 7 of 8 theme’s for the week already picked out:
2009 Leadership Retreat
All summer 2009 Nehi’s, Timothy Team, and SOMA are invited to the 2009 Leadership Retreat on December 4-6. It will be an incredibly fun couple of days remembering the good times had last summer. You won’t want to miss out!

Can’t wait to see you here!
Father/Daughter Camp!
Father/Daughter Camp is right now! This morning was filled with chapel (Chris King is our speaker), and an awesome GPS activity. This afternoon will be be filled with fun on the Challenge Course, Archery, Swimming…lots of fun camp stuff.
I took some pictures. Click here to see the gallery! Sorry about the overuse of the crazy wide angle lens! I was playing around with a new lens and went a little overboard!
Now What?
Summer Camp is over, but there is still a lot going on at NLR! As I look out my office window i can see a retreat group having a great time!
Now that camp is over what should we do with this blog? What kind of stuff would you like us to post about?
Cowboy day marked the last day of Day Camp, and it was another great day of swimming and other fun.
Summer camp came to an end today, but it was a wonderful last day of camp with a beautiful end to the MCP skit, and a great game of Ultimate Floccer.

Summer Camp was full of surprises, including the White Witch of Carnia, a slip n slide, and the best flicker game of the week. Check out the photos and come back tomorrow for the final day of Summer Camp 2009!
